Sixth grade students who select choir as their music class for the year will learn how to use their singing voice as a part of a large group ensemble. Students will also learn music theory and music history.
Some solo opportunities may be available but are never required.
The music students will sing represents a variety of styles and genres including pop, jazz, folk, rock, world music, Broadway, and movie soundtracks, well as traditional choral music.
Students will focus on learning to sing in unison and in 2-part harmony.
Performances are a graded requirement of this class. Performances occur in the 2nd and 4th quarters of the school year.
